The wait is over! Paramount Pictures has officially confirmed the highly anticipated sequel to the Oscar-winning blockbuster Gladiator. Set 25 years after the original film, Gladiator 2 will follow the story of Lucius, the son of Maximus Decimus Meridius, the fallen Roman general portrayed by Russell Crowe.
Academy Award-winning director Ridley Scott will reprise his role at the helm, with Paul Mescal (Normal People) and May Calamawy (Moon Knight) cast as Lucius and his love interest, respectively. The cast also includes Joseph Quinn (Stranger Things), Denzel Washington (Training Day), and Connie Nielsen (Wonder Woman), who will reprise her role as Lucius' mother, Lucilla.
